Bellevue East Drill Team: Blue Springs South 2024
Welcome to the website for the Bellevue East Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps or AFJROTC. This site is intended for use by cadets and their parents as a quick source of reference on upcoming corps events. Available for your use is information about our various teams and activities, accessible from the tabs above. No sensitive or personal data about our cadets is included, as we value the security of our program. While the web team is constantly working to keep the site up-to-date and functional, we aren't perfect. Any suggestions for content or improvement can be forwarded to our webmaster from the Contact Us tab.

Corps Goals:

Cadet Impact:
• NE-021 will receive a violence prevention class given by the Bellevue East School Resource Officer (SRO). Some of the topics covered include: emergency management response, basic self-defense and operational security. These skills will enhance self-awareness, safety and survival in our community. Upon completion of this class, cadets will take a quiz and will achieve an 80% or better.
• NE-021 cadets will be trained in CPR by a certified medical technician. This knowledge will teach our students basic fundamentals on life saving skills, increase preparation in case of an emergency, build confidence and be able to identify emergency situations in school and the community. Upon completion of this class, cadets will demonstrate on a Red Cross training aid proper CPR technique.
• NE-021 will receive storm spotter training from the Omaha National Weather Service office. This training will teach cadets how to identify thunderstorm structure, spotting techniques, reporting criteria, safety information and procedures, and enhance meteorological knowledge for our corps. Upon completion of this class, cadets will take a test and will achieve an 80% or better.

School Impact:
• Cadets will conduct a "Clean the Beast" (Bellevue East) campaign to emphasize keeping our school clean and help bolster the pride in Bellevue East. The program aligns with the principal's goal to enhance the image of our school throughout the community. Cadets will learn how their efforts can benefit the entire school and community while reducing labor for the custodians and bringing enhanced pride in the school's appearance and student ownership. We are aiming for 90% participation from current cadets.
• NE-021 will increase the current enrollment numbers by 10% promoting AFJROTC participation. We will use a three-pronged approach:
     • Conduct middle school lunch time visits at all three feeder middle schools. Current cadets will visit their alma mater schools to share the benefits of the AFJROTC program.

     • We will continue to push the "Citizenship" award at each feeder school where the middle school staff can nominate 3 students to attend AFJROTC sports, pool and arcade (SPA) nights. These 9 selectees will be welcomed by the current group staff and included in all the evenings activities. Last year 2 of the 3 feeder schools participated in this program. This year we will push to get all 3 involved.
     • We will update our current recruiting slideshow and create artifacts (posters, banners, etc.) showcasing the LDR's, cadet structure and activities we have been doing throughout the year. The corps will also start up social media pages in accordance with Maxwell guidelines and BPS policies to help spread the word about our programs.

Community Impact:
• NE-021 will dedicate 3,000 service hours in support of a broad range of service activities throughout the community. This will bring a closer connection with the cadets of NE-021, the community, and the school. • NE- 021 will conduct a non-perishable food drive partnered with Bellevue West AFIROTC. During September this will culminate at the East/West football game where all of the items and donations will be given to the Belleue Food Pantry. Our goal is to collect 10% more than last year's drive sales.
